Having fun in Thimpu!

With a new friend in Thimpu...did you notice my new Kira? With all the colors and wonderfully handwoven cloths...I get tempted:)

Thimpu high life!

Actually I realized re-reading some of my blogs that you might under estimate how much fun you can have here in Bhutan!

Thimpu is a very lively city, LOT's of restaurants, cafes, shops and people just hanging out for fun!

This morning I wrote a blog about our outing to the remote monasteries yesterday,

I mentioned the John Lennon song: "You might say I am a dreamer...but I am not the only one..." and today Tho and me heard the retired lieutenant colonel former head of the royal body gard sing just THIS SONG!!!!

As Tho is quite busy today, sitting all day at his computer, we decided to go to the TAJ, a nice hotel 10 minutes walk from our home, for a brunch.

By chance the mother of the 4th king with all her entourage of ladies, monks, bodygards, the queen mother and some special guests had had the same idea..

We even had the honor of being introduced to one of the queens and this very charming retired lieutenant colonel (etc) who at one point took to the "stage" to sing..."you might say I am a dreamer....but (for sure) not the only one.."

This morning I also went to the week end market that is crowded and joyful!

So just to correct, not only solitary hermits live in Bhutan!

Crowded streets in Thimpu!
