Asphalt jungle

Asphalt jungle

Underground, skytrain, tchouk tchouk,: Asphalt jungle in Bangkok!

Strolling around in week end market Chatuchak with Naomi, we felt quite overwhelmed with heat, people and so many THINGS! Soooooo many things!

It is like a labyrinth of thousands of little shacks-shops with just about everything you can imagine, anything there is to buy…lot’s of clothes, food, decoration stuff and endless things you really don’t need!

At one point Naomi said: there is nothing here to buy…did she mean the emptiness of ALL things?

We strolled bravely through this THINGS_JUNGLE, bought a few little things (we really don’t need), and had fun in our bravery!

We then took a tchouk tchouk to Wat Po temple! This was fun too (and brave!) … we hardly could breathe, our eyes were burning from the polluted air. We drove around 30 minutes again in a sort of city-labyrinth-jungle of traffic jam.

I had studied Thai Massage in Wat Po some 10 years ago and the laying Bhudda was my resting place over lunch hour during this 10 days course.

It was good to see Wat Po again, but we were already a bit tired and there too were many many people so we just sat for a while under a nice tree in the shade and rested for some moments, coming back to ourselves,

It is so good to find a tree when one is tired and hot and exhausted. The shade, freshness, the green leaves, the sound of the air in the branches are so soothing!

We took the boat and skytrain back to our hotel!

We skyped with Tho who told us about his hike to another monastery and we told him about our “hike” through the asphalt jungle of a big city!

He was quite exhausted from the climb up to 3200M…we were quite exhausted from all the noise, pollution, distractions…quite a different kind of exhaustion ?…!

On the river in BKK
In the tchouk tchouk...and in traffic jam!
Sitting under the tree restored our freshness and smile:)

You look like your dad more than your Italian mum!
By the way, I once used to sit on that concrete bench where you were sitting at Wat Pho!
