Visiting Thimphu!
It is fun to visit Thimphu with Russia’s family,
This morning we went to the big Memorial Choerten near the “entrance” of Thimphu,
A path that would take
me 15-20 minutes, was almost one hour long, as Sofia wants to walk by herself all the time!
Today on “no car day” it is nice to walk through Thimphu!
Igor said to us: it is a dangerous place for children
there at the Memorial Choerten, as mainly old grand ma’s and grand pa’s turn around the stupa and they all want to touch, hug, pinch the cheeks of our three grand children! We were quite an attraction there!
There was
some special ceremony with trompets, drums, chantings going on at the Memorial Choerten.
Yesterday we visited Changhankha Lhakhang. We did not know that it was actually the temple where parents bring their children to receive
a blessing. So actually it was the perfect place for a first outing with our grand children!
The young Tulku of this temple, a boy of 10 years was guiding a ceremony and we all received his blessing.
We all recited
Om Mani Peme Hung while turning the many prayer wheels all around the temple, we received blessed “talisman” by a mystical tulku…
A true Bhutanese experience!
Ilya seems totally at ease with
all this, he recites the mantras as if he had done this all his life, and all of them, Ilya Alexis and Sofia just look gorgeous in their newly bought Gho’s and Tshuba!
Today it is quite cool…no sun today and they all feel
a bit tired from the long journey adapting to the altitude and all…so we take it easy and enjoy!
