Unless you become like little children...

Sofia at Cheri Monastery at 3050 M . She walked most of the path joyfully by herself, ...arriving at the monastery she wants to turn the prayer wheels saying: "encore"! (more)

"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" Matthieu

Being in Bhutan with our 3 grandchildren, Russia and Igor, is a totally new experience!

All walks take so much more time...with children "mindful walking" is THE natural way of walking...it is not to reach a goal somewhere...but just the joy to walk...a bird, a crack in a wall, another child, a dog, a spider, a stick, a flower, a tree...so many adventures are on the way!

No plans, just one step at a time...Reaching any definite place is so secondary, the only thing that counts is the present moment!

People interact in such a different way when you are with little children!

At the arts and crafts college yesterday when we entered the classes where young buthanese teenagers learn, or sculpture, or thanka painting, or wood carving etc, all these young people, girls and boys had so much joy sharing their skills with Ilya Alexis and Sofia! Ilya and Alexis received blessed clay to do sculptures at home and the girls in the embroidery class wanted to kidnap Sofia!

Monks get all tender and playfull, many people touch and admire Sofia's hair and ALL people have happy smiles on their faces while interacting with them!

They love to see Alexis and IIlya in their Ghos and everyone we meet adjusts their Ghos, shows us how they should wear it etc...I think they simply take the opportunity of the Gho to be friendly and warm hearted with us!

In the "tourist road" I do not need to buy anything anymore...They get so many presents from the "tourist shop" vendors there!

Today we walked up to Cheri monastery. Sofia wanted to walk by herself! I would say she walked 1/3 of the path on her own!!!! She looked happy and joyful!

Up at the monastery she wants to turn the prayer wheel "encore, encore"...climb the steep steps...

I had to tell Alexis some "Yeti" stories to help him climb the steep path and then he even "saw" one in the thick forest below!

Ilya found a stone in the shape of a yak head!

He said to his mother: Haven't we been in Bhutan before? Because I know this bridge, this path, I know I have been here before!

PRESENT MOMENT WONDERFUL MOMENT

A monk in Cheri monastery who lives here since 4 years without ever going "down" is delighted with Sofia's company! And what does he do? He pinches her cheek! it seems to be a very affectionate gesture with little children here...Sofia is getting used to it!
A sweet painting we saw in the art school! Gitti, I thought of you when I saw it!
