Stopping
Since I am here in Bhutan many people, even myself, have wondered why I do not get involved in special education here,
Like in many developing countries special education is at its beginning phase in Bhutan.
All my life I have worked and I am still working with children, adults with special needs, Since I was 25 years old…now I am 61…so it is quite some time !
I did many many trainings, trained many many people and I
still learn and teach in this field of my ongoing-work
Eurasia Foundation in Vietnam is doing great and is doing really quality and pioneering work since allmost 20 years in this field and certainly I have been and still am one of the
pillars of Eurasia, www.eurasia.org.vn
I have met some really nice and inspiring people here in Bhutan who do care and work with children with special needs,
The country is small and I think new solutions adapted to the specific
situation here need to be developed…so why do I stay silent… ?
I think for me Bhutan is very much about something else than "getting involved as usual"
All my life I have been « so much involved »,
and I still am …but Bhutan offers me and calls me to take time to look inside…or simply to take time….one step at a time...
Next to supporting Tho for his work in the GNH Centre, working for Eurasia via skype and internet (Oh skype
here in Bhutan!) , I do feel the calling here to « stop »more consciously and more than anywhere else I manage to do it,
May be it is the start of a new phase in life...making space for others to get involved
I feel it as
a shift of pace...in me
I feel Bhutan is like a gift from life in this phase of my life, like an opportunity I do not want to miss
Tomorrow I will be going to Hue: Eurasia is entering a new and important and fascinating phase! We will have
the opening of the New Workshops for people with disabilities, the New Tearoom run by people with disabilities, the New Kindergarden, the New bio dynamic herbgarden, a training on Early detection...and more! Together with the Eurasia and TTG team we have been
working since over a year to make all this become real! It is so inspiring and innovative ! Thank you all !
I really hope I will keep this new pace of Bhutan in me during these events...I think it could be important to share and communicate:
"I
do not run anymore and that "Now is the Time"
Ps I just reread my blog entry : letting go...I express almost exactly the same ideas as in this blog entry,
So I guess this is an important theme and lesson to learn for me at this moment: letting
go and one step at a time !
