Patience
Autumn is in full « bloom »…actually autumn is not the time of blooming but the time going towards “decay”…towards…letting go …towards bareness of winter...but
right now the colors are exploding with intensity, incredible variety and are changing every day into a new “miracle of beauty”
What an amazing lesson for life…this everchanging nature is giving us daily…Firstly
the lesson of Impermanence, as every day the colors, all of nature changes, is different…Secondly the lesson of Confidence, as very faithful rhythms of life coming again and again…every year faithfully with some varieties of weather but
undisturbed by human noise…yes Spring will return after ...winter...spring ...summer...autumn
We need lots of Patience these days,
The pandemic is far from over, Europe is again at the brink of a lockdown…
This global crisis we are living, experiencing ALL together, and this all over the planet simultaneously, reminds me of similar patterns linked to more personal crisis…
As human beings we all go through at one point in our lives,
or may be even several times during our life journey, through life changing “crisis”. May it be sickness, accidents, natural catastrophes, separation, or loss and all sorts of challenges that impacts our life painfully…
Confronted
with this crisis, one usually at first only wishes that all would come back to normal as quickly as possible…if one could just push a reset button and all is back like before, right? at first one wishes that ?
Then, one realizes it does
not work like this, as the way it was before brought us into this crisis, right? a real change will be necessary…so no coming back to before is actually possible …one struggles, adapts, changes, one slowly feels one “get’s over
it” “one has learnt the lesson, one is ready to move on, one is ready to make the changes this crisis asks us to do…and then one realizes one still needs PATIENCE….REAL PATIENCE…as real deep change sometimes needs time….
And sometimes before we can really shift into the new there is a sort of "standstill"…The "old" is no more, the "new" has not yet emerged....as if we need to let the change go deep enough into our being and emerge at its own pace and
time…we cannot force it anymore...we have to stay in this "not yet knowning"...with patience
I was once in such a “personal crisis” just wishing impatiently it/I would move on…when one day sitting in a train I
heard some passengers sitting opposite me talking to each other. One said to the other: “The big boats with the huge wheels on their sides, these” Paquebot “on the Mississippi, when they change direction they first have to come to a certain
standstill…the wheels go backwards for a while to allow the boat to slow down and then only can they change direction”
When I heard them talk, not to me actually, but still it was like a “Aha” moment for me…I
realized I need to be much more patient and accept this standstill, this not knowing when, how, the change would come about…
Patience is a virtue…it gives us breath…it helps us to relax into “what is” …relax
into the “not knowing”
Wishing us all a patient time!...
