A cloud symphony
Travelling …what an adventure after these two and a half years of calm “staying at home”!
First of all, the lounge in Istanbul…people from all kinds of origins
thrown together in this “out of space and time” experience.
A group of men and women from a Muslim country…they greeted each other with Salem Alaykum, had their prayer beads rolling between their practiced fingers…a group
of young Chinese looking smart and “modern”, two ladies from an African country, one wearing a spiderman outfit…yes believe me or not she wore a tight long sleeve t-shirt and tight leggings both with spiderweb design. She was rather strongly
built, but it did look amazing…and Indian man constantly on his phone…well I was again impressed by this international atmosphere of an airport lounge.
CNN and other international news were constantly bombarding us with their
newsfeed on the Ukrainian war.
I was wondering how each of our co-travelers might interpret, see, experience, react emotionally to these “breaking news”, see it from a different angle of interest, experience, belief or political system…
But at 2h in the morning and Covid still around we all stayed a part and did not talk to each other, but I would have loved listening in in their conversations and hearing from our brothers and sisters : how have you been during these past two years, how are
you now? …just to be reminded that there is not 1 Truth…but many ways that lead to Truth.
And then during the next flight, in the morning I watched the cloud symphony the sky was offering us. AMAZING!
Again I
thought, we see the reality from our so limited tiny earthly angle…but all that is happening up in the skies totally eludes us! Wow ! Clouds appearing, disappearing, huge dramas, incredible moving “cloudscapes”, collusions, thunderstorms,
constant transformation of scenery, of atmosphere…just simply GRANT!
Arriving in HCM I was reminded of how these two Covid years have also brought many changes to this part of the world. Many shops closed, hotels closed…some
people say all the little shops who struggled during Covid were bought by ONE big company, the rich getting richer, the poor poorer…the scars of these two past years are palpable
Speaking with friends I was reminded how brave, how
tender, vulnerable and strong, we all are. So much joy to see each other again, and yet we know, each one has gone through a lot in these past two years, each one in his/her own way and it is so good to feel our support and love for each other.
The old equilibrium has been broken, the new is not yet fully there and we ask ourselves what is there to let go off, what is there to keep or develop a new
But now only the JOY to be together counts !
