New Year of the Snake,
I have not written on my blog for quite some time,
I have been back from Bhutan since middle of November and I needed time to “digest” it all, to be with my family and friends
here, but also to prepare and continue my work for the Eurasia Foundation and Association: www.eurasia.org.vn
Writing reports, our newsletters, preparing new projects, fundraising, administrative work, working
with our team, meeting people, answering to many requests, ….dreaming the future…listening to what wants to come....
It is such a wonderful work! Actually it is not really work…it is our life!
The year of the
Snake starts with quite an agility and dynamic movement!
I realize that it is 12 years ago that Tho and me took our sabbatical…it was during Têt 2001, Vietnamese New Year, that we started writing to each other in a sort of
Spirit of Beginning anew…
We stayed for 4 months in a little flat high up in the Swiss alps, in St Luc, just the two of us, meditating, walking, walking, walking in the mountains, observing nature, observing our feelings, thoughts, our silence........
and writing letters to each other,
We then moved to Hue Vietnam for another 5 months continuing our inner and outer journey. So all in all 9 months, like a pregnancy ...for allowing something new to be reborn...
These letters have been published
as a book “Pélérinage intérieur, un dialogue amoureux”…actually I think very few people bought this book…we are not so good in promoting it…and it is in French! …but truly this courage and deep convicting
that we needed to STOP and come back to our true aspirations of “why we came here on earth”, this courage to look deeply in ourselves and at each other, this sabbatical time is still nourishing me today,
Yes sometimes periods
of not “being active” of withdrawing from “outer” work, “responsibilities”, periods of STOPPING are the wisest things to do!
This nagging “bad conscience” of “not always doing something”
is actually so counterproductive!
When I meet friends, or when I think of myself, when going through a certain crisis, one wishes one could say to them, to ourselves : REJOICE! "ENJOY" every second of this inner or outer situation that
sort of “holds you back”! Be patient! In this “not doing “ in this “suffering, “, in this questioning, something new is arising and it is enabling you to come closer to yourself, to the others…
But
of course when people suffer they just want it to pass…but staying WITH this suffering, questioning, “holding back”, staying in it fully with equanimity and freedom is the key!
So here comes another year of the Snake!
We just started new constructions in TTG (www.TINHTRUCGIA.ch) ! At last! Yes here too we almost had a year of“holding back” The project and all was ready 1 year ago and yet not all the
circumstances were ready for us to go ahead. Here too in this “waiting time” we the TTG/Eurasia team we could question our motivations again, strengthen our vision, ripen our understanding of each other and of the real needs of our times and build
stronger partnerships. If we would have “jumped” into action one year ago the project would not have been rooted like it is today!
We also start fundraising for an integrated Kindergarden project and together with TTG and some inspired
help (Herbert Dreiseitl…look him up on internet) we plan an ecological project, like a parc, bio-dynamic garden for/with the City of Hue for the children in Hue schools to come and learn about bio agriculture, protection of plants animals etc…in
this project our youngsters with disabilities will be the “teachers”!
